Don’t Be Afraid of Changes When You Want to Quit Smoking
If you want to quit smoking successfully, it is important that you learn how to overcome the fear of facing changes in life. Changes do occur on a daily basis but you might not feel comfortable with changes since you need to adapt to new circumstances. You might be afraid of not being able to cope with different challenges in life if you quit smoking. This fear is especially true if you have been using cigarettes as your main source of stress reliever.
If you quit smoking the first thing that you might worry is that you are actually changing your lifestyle. You might feel it awkward when you don’t have any cigarette packs in your pocket. Perhaps you are afraid to lose friendship with so many people because these people are also smokers and in order to quit smoking you need to avoid them at least for a while.
Once you have determined to quit smoking, you need to do some drastic changes. This may include changing your mindset from negative to positive. You must be able to fight your own thoughts especially when the craving is hitting hard and you are just seconds away from having the next cigarette puff. It is normal to hear things in your mind, urging you to have just another cigarette. Be strong, and occupy your time with healthy activities and be surrounded with caring people. That way, you will be able to quit smoking and be free from cigarette addiction.
